Before the invention of 'second hand smoke', cigars were considered a sinful luxury enjoyed by doctors everywhere. Don't get us wrong, We're not implying that puffing on a good cigar is healthy for you. Of course we also wouldn't tell you to eat fast food, cook with Teflon®, engage in dangerous extreme sports or any of the other countless things we can do to shorten our life span. Anything in excess is likely to do anyone in, but for those of us with the self control to enjoy in moderation.. Cigars are more important than that after dinner mint.

But enough politics! Men & women have been enjoying a "good cigar" since Rodrigo de Xerez and Luis de Torres (agents of Chris Colombus) brought tobacco leaves back to Spain and refined the North American natives after-dinner practice of inhaling smoke from burned leaves into the nose through a "Y" shaped device called a "tobacco". Ewwww! It's nice to know it's much more civilized now-a-days.

Today, cigars are enjoyed like a fine wine or spirit with specific procedures to enhance the experience. The proper cut, how to light and what to light with as well as how far you should smoke'em down makes all the difference between enjoying that cigar and just looking like another spaz at the Texas Hold'em party. If you really want to know the ground rules on how to enjoy a cigar, you can surf over to Cigars Review for a lesson in Cigartiquette . Ok, we made that up but the info is good.

Here at Park Avenue Fine Tobaccos, we have everything for the cigar aficionado.
